Sales Compensation Consultant          

Location: Denver, CO

Type: Full Time

Compensation: DOE $80,000 + 10% Bonus + Benefits

 

PURPOSE

 

The Sales Compensation Analyst will be responsible for the administration, design and management of companies Sales Compensation Plans.  Partners with Region and Headquarters Sales, Finance, and HR in providing specialized knowledge of sales incentives and incentive based programs.  Provides business analysis on plan performance to support decisions affecting sales compensation. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES in order of importance. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1.      Responsible for coordinating, administering and monitoring compensation programs (base pay, commission and variable pay programs).  Communicates results of the programs and makes recommendations or improvements to the program based on these results. 

2.      Partners with Region Finance & Human Resource teams to ensure sales incentives are paid in accordance with plan provisions.  This includes the collection and validation of sales and revenue data from Financial and Sales systems, the calculation of bonus payouts, and analyzing payment trends.  Leads the resolution of requested exceptions to plan provisions.

3.      Assists with tracking and reporting Sales Metrics to senior management.

4.      Assist in the strategic planning for the sales compensation area such as identifying models for new plans and conducting user/group sessions to identify continuous improvement.

5.      Administers sales plan documents, new hire guarantees and the draw program.

6.      Participates in data submission of Sales salary surveys.  Reviews and analyzes sales market data, salary ranges and job leveling to ensure the sales team is inline with market.

7.      Models complex sales compensation plan and “what if” scenarios.

8.      Prepares and reviews data for inclusion in sales compensation reports, statements, and summaries.

9.      Participates and adheres to all internal audit requirements and testing.

 

COMPETENCIES

 

·        Must be IT/IS articulate with a solid technical and financial understanding

·        Conceptual understanding of financial forecasting, reporting, statistics, and financial modeling skills

·        Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines

·        Solid knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment

·        Ability to successfully perform independent in-depth analysis

·        Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

·        Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization 

·        Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferably majoring in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.  Minimum of five (5) years experience in sales compensation required.  Previous experience with Sales Compensation Systems a plus.  Ad hoc and reporting knowledge required.
