Marketing/events for husband's start up distribution company for patented products. Conduct research, coordinate direct and e-mail marketing, product marketing and coordinate product blitz/events.



2003-2008 American Lung Association-Dallas, TX

Development Manager/Special Events Director

Two main events: the D/FW Asthma Walk and the Breath of Life Gala. Increased annual walk net from $30,000 to $164,000. Responsible for 60% increase in new sponsorship and donors. Skills include extensive writing of proposals, press releases, newsletters and web design, media relations/media sponsorships and cultivation of current media contact list, extensive phone and e-mail correspondence and personal presentations. Recruited 8 new American Lung Association board members. Recruited local athletic celebrity support from Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars players. Strong media contact base.

Temporary assignment with focus on member recruitment, phones and direct mail. Updated and structured donor database to more efficiently utilize direct mail effort. Coordinated two membership campaigns through direct mail. event, "The Swiss Avenue Mile," a pledge walk held April 2002. Called in by the Executive Director (my former employer) to advise and coordinate.



January – August 2002 National Athletic Trainers Association - Dallas, TX

National Development Coordinator

Planned and executed national special events - the Gatorade Golf Classic and the Breathe Right 5K Fun Run, both held at Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee during annual NATA Conference in 2002. Arranged and coordinated appearances at the golf tournament by NBA players Charles Barkley and Sean Elliott, including coordination with ESPN camera crew. Handled direct mail and meeting coordination for NATA regional conferences across the United States.



1994 –1999 United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) - Dallas, TX

As part of 3 member Management Team, worked with Executive Director on personnel policies and procedures, budgeting and operations. Responsible for annual fund raising budget. Increased annual fundraising budget 50%. Events included "UCP Night at the Stars," hosted by Stars hockey player Mike Modano; "Swing Into the Holidays" Golf Tournament hosted by NFL Hall of Famer Mel Renfro; "UCP Celebrity Golf Tournament" featuring current and former Dallas Cowboys and the development and implementation of "Walk & Roll for UCP," a pledge walk hosted by Jason Garrett (Dallas Cowboys) and Mike Modano. Established 75% new event donors. Extensive writing: releases, media alerts, PSA's, newsletters, direct mail, brochures, promotional materials. Conducted two telethons locally, in conjunction with the national UCP telethon. Conceived, wrote and produced "Challenge 2000,"a 30 minute educational program that aired on WFAA Channel 8 in 1998/1999 (no expenses). Received the 1998 national “ACE” award for best special event, “Walk & Roll for UCP;” conducted a lecture on how to establish this event at UCP’s national development conference that year. United Way spokesperson, addressing

corporations ranging in size from 10-500 and hosting corporate tours of facility. Recruited 5 board members.



1990 - 1994 National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX

Special Event Director

Special events: 15K Super Cities Walk (3 area walks), total net of $100,000 and the MS150 Two Day Bike Tour, "Bike to the Brazos," first year net of $75,000.



Coordinated the Dallas Super Cities Walk (net $300,000) supervised/advised the Denton Super Cities Walk, as well as coordinating the EDS/MS Best Bike 150 (net $200,000).
