I maintain several applications and am responsible for fixing trouble tickets, maintaining defects lists and troubleshooting. The applications I maintain include CSOL (case sheets online), GPS, and ACE. CSOL and ACE are written in Powerbuilder, and GPS is a Peoplesoft application. CSOL is an application that allows real estate agents to enter sales information that is then uploaded to ACE. ACE maintains sales information and calculates payouts for agents. GPS is the second half of the accounting system that actually issues and tracks checks. As part of the IT department, we also provide real estate agents with a wide range of web based utilities and office level and individual web sites. Tickets are tracked using Peoplesoft.

Duties/Responsibilities: I worked on the Coast Guard CMPlus/Star project as a software engineer and Task lead using PowerBuilder 7.0, Powerbuilder PFCs version 7.0, and Oracle SQL. I was responsible for all development for the Supply portion of CMPlus which encompasses about 2/3 of the CMPlus Project. I also worked on the Coast Guard IBUDS/AFTS and LUFS (Large Unit Financial Systems) projects as a software engineer, developing software using PowerBuilder 5.0, Powerbuilder PFCs version 5.0, and Oracle SQL. In addition I used Microsoft Access to develop a migration database used to migrate Coast Guard IBUDS/AFTS legacy data to the new system. PVCS a configuration management tool was used to track software through the various phases of development.
LUFS is the Coast Guard's Financial System providing procurement and accounting functions for large units. The procurement functions include: Purchase Requests (PRs), Purchase Orders (Pos), Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), Blanket Purchasing Agreements (BPAs), BPA call sheets, bank card transactions, and receiving reports, and receiving reports. The accounting functions include: maintenance of Coast Guard unit account balances, interface
with Coast Guard Finance Center (FINCEN), reconciliation of accounts, and generation of Coast Guard unit financial reports.
CMPlus (Configuration Management Plus) is an on-line configuration-based supply and maintenance system for updating and maintaining baseline configuration data and replacement materials onboard Coast Guard cutters. CMPlus allows the user to access and maintain information relating to a cutter's inventory, maintenance, and equipment history.
STAR (Standard Automated Requisition) is an automated requisition ordering and tracking system deployed to Coast Guard units. Functionality within the application enables these locations to develop lists of commonly ordered items, create requisitions, export data to LUFS for obligating funds, and export/import data about orders and their status to/from ARMS (the centralized Automated Requisition Management System).
IBUDS is support for the U.S. Coast Guard Budget Process for Operating Expenses (OE) Appropriation from the development of Resource Change Proposals (RCPs) through the source of funds, to the distribution of the budget throughout the Coast Guard (CG). It enables CG financial planners to develop budget requests and submit them to CG Headquarters (HQ) for review, adjustment, approval, and consolidation in a consistent and timely manner.
AFTS is an automated tool used to process Funds Transfer Authorizations (FTA) and Changes in Financial Plans (CIFP) within the CG. It distributes OE funding information generated through IBUDS to CG field units and to the Department Accounting and Financial Information System (DAFIS).
BDM Federal, Inc., Computer Systems Analyst (September 1994 to October 1996):
Duties/Responsibilities: I designed and developed Microsoft Access databases for use over BDM's local area network, designed and developed FoxPro databases, designed and developed computer based training (CBT) applications using Aimtech's Icon Author. One of the CBT courses I developed was a CBT for ARMS (the centralized Automated Requisition Management System). This CBT contains over 400 screens and 4 hours of content. In addition, I was a member on an organization level Software Process Improvement (SPI) Team. My responsibilities included design and development of the organization's Process Database using PowerBuilder 4.0, the writing of organizational processes and
procedures, and conducting Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Evaluations to assess internal project maturity against the CMM.
