* Handled the Materials Management/Logistics functions for diverse manufacturing plants with over 1500 unique SKU's including incoming raw materials, inventory management and managed the outbound processes for the finished products that were shipped both domestically and globally to regions like Asia, Western Europe, Mexico, Canada. Corporate Express DPM is a $400 Million manufacturer and distributor of business forms and other printed products with 10 manufacturing plants and 19 distribution centers. Corporate Express DPM is one division of the $5 Billion Buhrmann Corporation headquartered in the Netherlands.
* Total operational and P&L responsibility for the entire Materials Management/Logistics functions including distribution, private fleet, transportation, inventory control and forecasting, BAAN ERP/WMS system enhancements and improvements.
* Responsible for operational turnaround from a $1,173,000.00 loss to $3,000.00 profit in 11 months for the divisions distribution center operations. Also responsible for inventory integrity, latest inventory at largest facility with $7,400,000.00 of inventory recorded a inventory discrepancy of only $14,637.00
* Operational and P&L responsibility for 29 sites, operating budget in excess of $70M, transportation budget in excess of $12M.
* Responsible for the strategic direction of the Materials Management/Logistics organization, including the ongoing warehouse reduction program. Also responsible for private fleet operations including safety and compliance.

The Logistics Results Group was a 3rd party non-asset based Materials Management / Logistics consulting company specializing in helping clients in all areas of the Materials Management/Logistics arena.
* Reconfigured an automatic sortation system to improve efficiencies. Conducted on-site research, analyzed existing processes, and proposed computer upgrades to improve productivity and reduce out of stocks. Productivity improvements saved over $250,000 annually and increased inventory accuracy by 30%.
* Functioned in a consulting role performing project management, evaluating client needs and providing management solutions in all areas of logistics and supply chain management.
* Implemented significant operational improvements and cost savings by change management, process improvements, metric development, strategic sourcing, training, business relocation, manufacturing improvements, transportation and distribution cost reduction.
* Led 300 union and non-union MRO associates located in 16 worldwide distribution centers. Managed planning, transportation, warehousing, sales forecasting and inventory control functions. Controlled an operating budget of $26 million.
* Spearheaded a comprehensive carrier consolidation process. Upon completion, 85% of existing carriers were no longer needed and expenses decreased by $600,000.

NCR Systemedia is a $700 million division devoted to the manufacturing and distribution of business forms and office supplies. NCR Corporation is a $5.6 billion dollar publicly traded corporation.
* Consolidated 15 Western European distribution centers into five strategic locations. Analyzed existing operations, identified primary facility sites, and supported the entire transition process. Project was completed in six months, and saved over $10 million within one year of reorganization.
* Operational and P & L responsibility for all of the domestic and international distribution centers (45 sites) for this consumable products division. Operational budget in excess of $100 million. Consolidated operations, improved customer service levels, and implemented process improvements valued at $10 million.
* Managed freight budget in excess of $55M in all modes both domestic and international.
* Negotiated all domestic and international freight rates for all modes of transportation and monitored all transportation and distribution contracts.
* Developed and managed the strategic direction for all international and domestic distribution centers.
* Overhauled a domestic distribution system. Transformed six plant-based distribution centers into five regional distribution centers with full stocking capabilities. Designed a domestic distribution network utilizing select 3PL's to streamline in-house manufacturing capabilities and maximize operational efficiencies. (Featured in an article in Distribution Magazine in 1998)
* Customer service levels improved dramatically and operating expenses fell by $1 M.
* Developed and implemented service metrics for the Materials Organization. Application of both the "half life" and "6-Sigma" process improvement methodologies. Key player in the establishment of base lines to track functional improvements in all operational areas.
* Managed the implementation of Oracle Manufacturing (ERP/MRP). Selected and implemented the WMS system, bar code (Data Capture) and RF system, also implemented and modified the inventory control system.
Standard Register, Dayton, Ohio 1985-1995 Manager Corporate Transportation
* Designed and developed an Automated Information System (AIS) to rate, audit, and pay all freight bills. The new (AIS) replaced a cumbersome manual system, and resulted in annual savings in excess of $500,000.
* Responsible for transportation rate negotiations for all modes of transportation (TL, LTL, small package, air, rail and ocean), carrier selection, and internal processing functions for a $1.4 billion corporation. Annual operating budget exceeded $40 million. Managed freight budget in excess of $35M in all modes both domestic and international.
* Managed private fleet of 100 + power units. Initiated private fleet costing program that resulted in a reduced of the private fleet and cost savings of over $250K per year.
* Total operation and P & L responsibility for 107 manufacturing and distribution sites with an annual operating budget exceeded $80 million.
