12/00 to 12/02 Mirant Corporation, Washington, D.C. – Manager, Finance & Accounting Operations
(Business Unit encompasses PEPCO generating assets bought by Mirant Corporation on 12/19/00. Mirant downsized in 2002 and ultimately filed for Chapter 11 in July 2003.)

Responsible for start-up and management of the financial forecasting (P&L and Balance Sheet), O&M and capital budgets, procurement, inventory control, AP, and AR functions for the Mid-Atlantic Business Unit of 900 employees, seven facilities and LLCs generating over 5200 MW and $1 billion in revenues. Translated extensive financial bid model into Business Unit operating financial models and budgets. Modeling including consideration of energy trading markets and environmental regulatory compliance requirements. ERP information system start-up included oracle financials, and maximo procurement and materials management. This department worked directly with Atlanta energy trading floor to translate energy market models into business unit short and long term financial revenue plans. Performed numerous energy asset project valuations related to capital intensive maintenance and environmental compliance alternatives, and other miscellaneous new asset procurements. During final sale agreement accounting true-up between Mirant and Pepco, personally responsible for $9 million in savings to Mirant. Supervised a department of 16.


3/85 to 12/00 Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO), Washington, D.C.

5/98 to 12/00 Manager, Generation Financial & Budget Analysis
Responsible for start-up and management of the Generation Business Unit (GBU) Finance Department with over $1 billion in revenues for five generating plants, a mobile maintenance crew and various support groups. Supervised a department of 35 financial, budget and administrative personnel across seven facilities. Responsible for the development and coordination of GBU financial planning models and performance measurement including EVA. Supported GBU divestiture activities and subsequent sale activities to Mirant Corporation (previously Southern Energy, Inc.). During divestiture due diligence, personally conducted all financial presentations to all prospective bidders and maintained GBU financial Q&A bidder database.

8/92 to 5/98 Manager, Generation Training & Procedures Development
Responsible for managing the technical and regulatory compliance training, qualification and procedure programs for approximately 1200 employees located in six facilities for the GBU. Supervised a department of 24. Managed O&M and capital budgets of $ 2.2 million and $ 1-3 million, respectively. Selected as the candidate to manage the combined generation training activities in Constellation Energy, the proposed merger between Baltimore, Gas, & Electric and PEPCO.

Accomplishments included the successful re-design and implementation of a Bargaining Unit multi-skilled training and qualification program, implementation of an interactive multimedia training program in the GBU, and implementation of a $3 million Foxboro DCS Power Plant Operator Simulator and training program.

3/85 to 8/92 Supervisor, Plant Accounting & Administration
Responsible for managing the financial, administrative, and information resources for the Chalk Point Generating Station of 260 employees. Managed the O&M, Fuel Handling, and Capital financial plan development totaling $48 million in support of annual, five, and ten-year plans. Supervised a department of nine.

9/83 to 3/85 Star Trading & Marine, Inc., Washington, D. C. - Assistant Operations Manager
Directly involved in the operations of an international shipping brokerage firm acting as exclusive agents for Egypt and Sudan as well as other ship owners.
