I conduct process and cost analysis, time studies, help establish work measurement programs and analyze data for the development of standards and labor utilization. I examine specific work areas and make recommendations for improvements in through put, inventory reduction and reduction of operating expense. I analyze work force utilization, facility layout and operational data (production costs, flow charts, schedules) to determine utilization of employees and equipment. I am currently the lean manufacturing champion for the facility where I am now employed and I am the trainer and implementation leader for continuous improvement for lean practices utilizing lean production theory, kaizen events, 5S, value stream mapping, process flow mapping and visual floor controls. I am the implementation manager for the production operating system for capacity, utilization, OEE measurement and reporting. Project Manager for Research and Development, I directed all phases of a new project for a medical equipment manufacturer. The objective was to produce (a new surgical table) in compliance with State and or Federal Regulatory and FDA guidelines and budgetary constraints set forth by the corporation. I worked within Sales Group, Design Development Group, Current Products Group, Purchasing and Production. Duties were to generate all development documentation such as the marketing plan, a marketing specification, design specification, design plan, manufacturing specification and manufacturing plan, packaging design and packaging testing, design testing and in process assembly testing protocol and according to Regulatory, FDA guidelines, U.L. and International Electrical Codes. I conducted design reviews, managed the development and manufacturing required to produce the finished product and the accessories for our market in an ISO 9000 certified operation. Processes utilized that I interfaced with daily to manufacture our product lines include sheet metal fabrication, metal stamping and forming, mig and tig welding, manual and CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC laser machining, electrostatic powder coating, wet electrostatic painting, assembly of electrical and mechanical devices. I performed product structure breakdown and generated travelers and process sheets using AS400 system. I reviewed and recommended process improvements, performed time studies, work flow analysis, assembly line layout and setup, line balancing, ergonomic studies, work cell development. I assisted with implementation of lean practices utilizing Toyota production theory, kaizen events, kanbans, and 5S training.
My contract has ended.

I provided manufacturing support for an aerospace company. Duties included evaluating
machining, finishing and assembly operations, developed product structure and sequence of
operations required for items to be manufactured using frozen planning, prepared capital expenditure justification and ROI, process and cost analysis, time studies, handled O.S.H.A. and plant safety related items. I worked with the team members toward the installation of lean manufacturing techniques. This company anticipated being awarded contracts with several major aerospace companies. When this did not
come to fruition my position was eliminated due to lack of work.

I directed all phases of manufacturing operation for a pallet manufacturing company. This was a two-shift operation consisting of welding, roll forming, metal stamping and forming, shearing, press brake forming, painting, and shipping. I was also in charge of the human resource department. I effectively reduced cost of manufacturing product annually. I left this job because the company relocated their plant to North Carolina and I elected to stay in the Atlanta area.

The following is a list of the processes and equipment I have personally been involved with, many of which would include my personal supervision of the selection of the machinery and the installation, setup, operation and training, production scheduling and maintenance of the equipment.

Metal Stamping: Single and double crank straight side and OBI mechanical and or hydraulic presses up to 800 tons some of which were high speed presses and the associated equipment such as un-coilers / payoffs, roll, transfer and air feeds, loop control and coil accumulator systems, quick change tooling systems, die protection systems and press monitoring systems for positive part ejection, load analyzing, automatic operation and personnel safety, I have developed programs for the preventative maintenance of all tooling and peripheral equipment utilized and the concept, design, manufacture and maintenance of progressive and single stage blank and form dies, transfer dies, deep draw dies, flying cut-off dies, roll stamping dies, steel rule and pancake dies.

Molding and extruding: plastic injection molding presses up to 400 tons, injection molding, insert molding, compression molding, vacuum forming, hot-stamping, silk-screening, pad printing, ultrasonic welding, gluing and the assembly of manufactured plastic products using a variety of different types of fastening mechanisms, the design, manufacture and maintenance of single and multiple cavity plastic injection molds using hot and cold runner systems and, some blow-molding.

Casting: Sand casting, Foam core casting, Lost wax casting or investment casting, zinc die casting, zinc dyna-casting, centrifugal casting, splash casting.

Rapid prototyping: Stereo lithography, selective laser sintering, fused deposition modeling, cast urethanes, rapid investment casting and rapid injection molding.

Machining: Manual lathe and CNC turning up to 5 axis with live tooling, Manual and CNC horizontal, manual and CNC vertical milling, CNC milling machining centers, CNC and manual routing, shapers, duplicators, boring, thread rolling and machining, drilling, tapping, blanchard grinding, flat grinding, form grinding, cylindrical grinding, centerless grinding, ID and OD grinding, laser machining, water jet machining, chemical milling, CNC and Manual sinker electrical discharge machining, CNC wire electrical discharge machining including the design and manufacture of the work holding tools and fixtures used for the above processes.

Sheet Metal Fabrication: shearing, slitting, stamping, rubber pad and hydraulic forming, brake press forming, plate forming, cut to length operations such as a sheeting line, roll forming using standard tooling and rafted systems, the design and manufacture of roll form tooling and air ram operated flying cut off dies and presses cutting roll formed tubing to length at speeds up to 300 ft. per minute.

Welding: Manual, automated and robotic welding of steels and aluminum and other metals using Stick, Metal Inert Gas and Tungsten Inert Gas welding, induction welding, friction welding, resistance welding, spot welding, brazing, silver, gold and lead soldering, the design and manufacture of the assembly tools, work holding and check fixtures and gages to be used.

Finishing: Manual and automatic grinding, sanding, polishing, electrostatic powder coating, electrostatic wet coating, and spray painting using hand held and automatic turbo-bell systems, automatic and manual systems used for the passavation of stainless steel, electrolytic chrome plating, electrolytic nickel plating, electrolytic zinc cyanide plating, electro-less nickel and electro-less chrome plating, heat treating of steels, tool steels and aluminum.

Assembly: Manual: automated and robotic assembly of electrical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical devices, design and manufacture of the automated equipment, assembly tools, work holding and check fixtures and gages to be used.

Quality Control: First article, in process, and final inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies using co-ordinate measurement machines, micrometers, calipers, gages, check fixtures and the design of the check fixtures and gages.
