th DPH and EPA regulations and the primary contact with Operations for nine of the Company's water distribution systems and assists in management of the remaining systems. Incumbent provides emergency response coverage as a Water Quality Coordinator as well as provides advice and counsel in all matters related to sample collection and reservoir management.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES:

1. Plans and organizes the Sample Collection function for all 25 CT water distribution systems including developing compliance/monitoring plans, quality assurance related to sample collection and field collection scheduling.

2. Supervisor for the Water Quality Field technicians including the development of work schedules, training and development and personnel issues related to time off. Coordinates with Laboratory Supervisor to provide efficient utilization of sample collection and laboratory staff.

3. Directly manages the Reservoir Management Program for all reservoir systems with reservoir insitu sample collection, review of data and monthly reportings to the Water Quality Management Team. Act as liaison with Consultants/Contractors, Supply Operations and Watershed Management groups on field operations and management of existing aeration systems.

4. Directly manages water quality and compliance issues for nine of the water distribution systems. Review analytical data, assess impact on water quality and compliance, communicate issues to the Water Quality Management Team, implement follow-up action with Supply and Utility Operations and assist with creation of compliance reports for the DPH. Assist the Water Quality Management Team on water quality management, compliance and customer service issues for all water systems: review and update monitoring programs, review all water quality issues and maintain compliance with DPH and EPA regulations.

5. Responsible for management of sample collection sites including site inspections, quality assurrance of sample sites and updating sample site plans. Manages the installation of sample stations and other related projects as needed.

6. Coordinates with the WQ Customer Service Coordinator to provide field service to resolve customer concerns as neccesary.

7. Responsible for investigating water quality problems as they occurr including coordinating field investigations with the Water Quality Management Team and the Source Protection, Supply Operations and Utility Operations Departments as needed.

8. Participate in Emergency Response Program as a Water Quality Coordinator, providing 7 day, 24 hour emergency water quality coverage on a scheduled rotation. While on duty, support Laboratory Services with weekend analytical coverage.

9. Provide backup support to Sample Collection and Laboratory Services groups as necessary to cover vacations and/or illnesses.

KNOW HOW: (Education, Experience, Certification required, etc.)

B.S. in Biology, Microbiology or Water Science minimum.
A minimum of five(5) years of experience in Water Quality, Water Utility Microbiology or other related discipline required.
Excellent planning, communication and customer service skills required.
