• At Kirby Corporation, I am part of the team conducting the start-up of new plant-producing bio-diesel fuel with BioSelect, an alternative fuel company. My running tasks include:
o Primarily, operating the Honeywell computer mainframe (“board”).
o Testing samples of our product and entering data into the database to track and maintain chemical levels.
o Overseeing the operation of the plant’s 150 lb. main and back-up boilers.
o Unloading tank trucks and barges to transport chemicals to and from the plant.

• At MeadWestvaco, it was my responsibility to carry out chemical process operations involved in producing and recycling paper: The majority of my tasks entailed:
o Overseeing the operation of the plant’s 2,000 lb. boiler.
 Collecting pulp by-products, such as pulp fibers from wood and lignocellulosic nonwood material, and reusing the by-products to create steam for more paper production.
 Reclaiming lime to reuse as quicklime to produce calcium hypochlorite bleach for bleaching the paper pulp.
o Operating the Foxboro mainframe (“board”).
o Lining up pipelines to the condenser and reactor units to transfer chemicals through the plant and to storage tanks.
o Conducting fork lifts, front-end loaders, pump vac trucks, dump trucks with air brakes, and railroad cars.

• At Exxon Bayway, I:
o Produced Vistanex™ LM polyisobutylene (PIB), also known as Butyl rubber, which is used as an additive in lubricating oils and motor fuel.
 Introduced a catalyst into polyisobutylene in a reactor unit under extremely cold temperatures to create a monomer product for re-sale to other companies as a base for their products.
o Operated cooling towers, condensers, reactors, and air and hand valves.
o Used the Foxboro mainframe (“board”).
