Summary of duties as a Title Officer: Determining ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal descriptions of real property by examining copies of legal documents such as deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics to determine ownership and legal restrictions affecting the property. Gather information by requisitioning maps or drawing delineating property from company title plant and other sources such as: County surveyors, county assessor, county cartography department, state circuit court records and bankruptcy court. I worked closely with escrow officers, lenders and attorneys with title clearing issues. I made underwriting decisions based on risk factors. Guaranteed quality of title by preparing and issuing title insurance based on information compiled from preliminary title report.
