Learning Landscapes, Lower 9th Ward, New Orleans, LA. January - July 2007

• Design of a community park and school playground master plan for the Dr. MLK Jr. Charter School

• Specific responsibilities included safe pedestrian routes to the site, ADA access and use, landscape architecture, bus access, and site planning

• Conducted public meetings and design charrettes with parents, children, school administrators, and residents to gain insight for design development

• Implemented design in a team- oriented, fast-paced work environment with concept to ground breaking in only 6 months



Zoning

Denver Zoning Code Update, Denver, CO. January - June 2007

• Extensive research created form-based zoning code examples of 4 neighborhoods in Denver to replace the current spot-zoning

• Presented and defended these form-based examples to the Denver Zoning Code Update Task-Force

• These successful form-based examples are used in the current “Blueprint Denver” zoning code



Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordination

Safe Routes to School, Denver, CO. January – August 2007

• Used GIS to map dangers to children and implement safe routes of pedestrian, bicycle, and automobile travel in the Munroe Elementary School District

• Conducted traffic and pedestrian counts, along with the use of crash research studies to produce a successful pedestrian travel network

• Worked with the City of Denver to Implement new bicycle travel routes, additional stop signs, and crosswalks

• The success of this project was the catalyst for city-wide implementation of the Safe Routes to School program in the Denver Public School District



Urban Renewal & Site Design

Denver Urban Renewal Authority, Denver, CO. January – June 2006

• Proposed and defended design plans for redevelopment of St. Anthony Hospital

• Conducted public design charrettes and created development proposals for the Denver Urban Renewal Authority

Riviera Del Sol Resort, B.C.S., Mexico June – December 2008

• Lead Designer of a 50 unit fractional resort including urban design, floor plans, architecture, landscape architecture, parking garage, environmental impact, and cost analysis to be constructed in 2011

• Managed the project from conception to the development stage including site plan, architecture, engineering, construction time-line, land acquisition, permit processing, relationship networking, and research
